"I'm getting ready for the world" is something an old girlfriend used to say and I've always liked the phrase.

This is an image that's had a lot of iterations in my various sketchbooks, notepads and scraps of paper over the years. I've always thought that there's a quiet, peaceful serenity watching a woman working on her hair and have always wanted to draw a piece based on that. I've sketched a lot of tries over the years, but never had one that I wanted to finish until now.

I wanted this piece to be attractive with a hint of sexy, but not overly sensual. I didn't want the color scheme to be took bland, so I used purple as the base color for her hair just to jazz things up a little bit.
