isn't this a thing yet? Oh yeah, because Disney laid off their 2D
animation staff! Blaaaaaaargh...
Anyhoo...
Yeah. This is complete fanwank. Deal with it.
This originally started as me just wanting to draw Dark Phoenix all
spooky and scary in an animated style. After tweaking the face
she looked a lot like a Disney villain and then the poster idea popped
into my head. I was going to add a bunch of crazy shading and
lighting gradients to her but the simple style just fit the whole thing
really good so I left well enough alone. :D
