This piece may be extremely dated, but it holds a place near-and-dear to me. I decided I wanted to enter the BotCon Art Contest for the first time in 2007, and since I had just come up with Optimus Prima and Megatronica they seemed like the perfect subjects. This piece was a lot of fun to work on, and winning Best in Show at the convention was a blast too! :3

I decided I wanted to draw them with the energy weapons Prime and Megatron sported in "More than Meets the Eye" so I set it at the Sherman Dam (the background is actually vectored from a screencap I took from that scene). The poses were surprisingly tricky, but ended up working well. Originally I had them facing farther apart, but then I decided to push them together so I could use that negative space. The images on the sides are based off of the Takara "Masterpiece" toy boxes for Optimus Prime and Megatron, as are the poses the two ladies are in. The "boxart" also features the first time I used colored lines on either Prima or Megatronica. ^_^
